SADEV is a world leader in the development of racing gearboxes.
Together with SADEV, we were able to introduce the first ready-to-install sequential solution solely for Caterham applications in 2010, which we still continue to offer at an extremely attractive price. Well over 1000 of these SADEV SCL 82-17s are now in use, as the Caterham factory also adopted this gearbox for top-tier performance models. Throughout this time, this gearbox has proven itself both on the road in various converted Caterhams, as well as in the Caterham flagship 620R and in many Caterham racing series.
Westermann Motorsport offers the possibility of power-shifting under full load without clutch actuation in the Caterham. And all this while retaining the standard clutch bells and clutch actuation. Only the driving plate and cardan shaft should be replaced.
Power-Shift means shifting up without accelerating and without interruption of traction or torque effects on the chassis. For this we use a GCU (Gearbox Control Unit) from the leading supplier, Geartronics. This GCU measures which gear you are currently in and also detects when the gear change is completed, namely when the next gear is engaged. The time of the necessary ignition interruption is automatically calculated and designed to be as short as possible. This makes the interruptions seem barely noticeable, with the average time of interruption falling in the range of approx. 50 milliseconds.
We offer three different ratios, offer the possibility to connect a speedometer cable and can also switch the reverse gear light.
