SADEV is one of the leading companies in motorsport gearbox manufacturing.

In collaboration with SADEV, we succeeded in offering a ready-to-install solution for the Caterham in 2010, which is distributed by Westermann Motorsport at a highly attractive price. Thousands of these SADEV SCL 82-17 gearboxes are now in use, as the Caterham factory has adopted this gearbox for many of their models. It has proven itself well on the road, in various Caterham modifications, as well as in the Caterham flagship 620R and numerous Caterham racing series.

Westermann Motorsport offers the option of Power-Shifting: upshifting under full load without clutch engagement in the Caterham, while retaining the standard clutch bell and engagement. Only the drive plate and propshaft need to be replaced.

Power-Shifting means upshifting without lifting off the throttle and without interrupting traction or applying torque to the chassis. For this, we use a GCU (Gearbox Control Unit) from the leading provider Geartronics, which measures both the current gear and detects when the shift is completed, i.e., when the next gear is engaged. The duration of the necessary ignition cut is automatically calculated and kept as short as possible, typically around 50 milliseconds, so the interruptions are imperceptible.

We offer three different gear ratios, have the option to connect a speedometer cable, and can operate the reverse light.
