For the Ford Sierra and Caterham 7" differentials, we offer gear ratio modifications.
If you need to change the ratios to 3.38, 3.62, or 3.92, swapping out the differential can be a sensible option. We have differentials with these ratios in stock and will gladly take your differential in trade if it is in good condition.
Changing to a 3.14 ratio is often not feasible due to its rarity. In contrast, 4.10 and 4.44 ring and pinion gears are currently readily available. A conversion to 4.10 and 4.44 is only possible in conjunction with a donor differential and a complete rebuild of the differential.
In this context, it is also advantageous to install a differential locker without additional time investment.
ISF surface treatment is available for the 4.10 and 4.44 ratios. ISF stands for Isotropic Superfinish – Isotropic Superfine Finish. The ISF process is a unique, patented technology that creates an isotropic surface structure with low roughness. Among other benefits, an ISF surface reduces friction and wear, thus increasing durability.
