All DeDion Caterhams up to around 2010, all CSR models, all Caterham 620s, and all new race cars with sequential gearboxes are equipped with the 7" rear axle differential.
(Since around 2010, DeDion Caterhams have predominantly been equipped with BMW differentials.)
For this 7" differential, we offer various limited-slip differentials and gear ratio changes. Gear ratios are available upon request in the following ratios: 3.14:1, 3.38:1, 3.62:1, 3.92:1, 4.10:1, 4.44:1, or 4.70:1.
We supply and install limited-slip differentials for 7" differentials with both splined and bolted drive shafts. For pure road use or occasional track days, we recommend the Quaife ATB differential. For primarily motorsport use, we offer limited-slip differentials from WESMO, TITAN, Tran-X, and ZF. We can also adjust the locking effect of all these differentials to your specifications.
If you do not own a Caterham, you can measure the width of the upper mounting bracket to identify your differential. A 7" differential has a mounting bracket length of approximately 178 mm. If the bracket is about 190 mm long, it is a 7.5" differential. For this differential, we offer the supply and installation of either a Quaife ATB or Tran-X limited-slip differential.
