Since 2010, Caterham has equipped its road-going models with differentials from the BMW 1 Series.
These 1 Series differentials are equipped without a differential lock or with a Caterham / TITAN multi-disc-lock The early disc-based locks sometimes cause problems due to excessive wear or broken lamellas. We can repair these differential locks with new, improved metal parts or install either a wading-free Quaife ATB lock or a WESMO lock. The locks can also be retrofitted in BMW differentials that were delivered without a lock without any problems.
For customers who mainly drive their Caterham on race tracks or use sequential transmissions, we offer a conversion from BMW to a Caterham Ford 7", as these differentials are much more suitible for high-performance applications.
